Loop 337
Loop 337, which surrounds the city, was the site of two fatal crashes in 2021. Both of these were two-vehicle crashes that involved several people. That number remained the same as in 2020, but it was up from zero in 2019.
State Highway 46
State Highway 46 only had one fatal crash in 2020. This was a multi-vehicle crash involving four vehicles and five individuals.

The vast majority of crashes in New Braunfels, 84.1% based on information from 227 fatal crashes, occurred during daylight hours. When you consider only the fatal crashes from 2021, 63.6% were in daylight. Clear conditions were present in 81.8% of those 11 crashes.
Overall, October is the most dangerous month to drive in this area, which is consistent with statistics for all of Texas. Sundays are the most dangerous day of the week, with the period after noon being the most unsafe.
